For communications, EFG implemented “one of the largest Riedel intercom solutions ever used, not just in esports but in any live-broadcast production globally,” says Ciobanu. The intercom backbone comprised five Riedel Artist-1024 frames and delivered nearly 990 ports across the system; 53 network switches were distributed throughout the event.

In addition, “mobility played a critical role in the deployment,” he points out. Ninety Riedel Bolero antennas installed across the site ensured full RF coverage, supported by 315 active Bolero beltpacks.
With the fixed operator positions, EFG deployed 270 Riedel SmartPanels (a mix of 2300 and 1200 series panels) as well as 20 expansion keypanels to extend functionality where needed. Unity Intercom helped accommodate remote workflows.
